iOS 6 Beta 2 10A5338d Released For iPod touch, iPhone, iPad

by Maryam Arshad on June 25, 2012

With the increasing competition for Apple every day, it tends to keep up with the pace. Apple is now releasing new developer betas after every two weeks. The iOS6 beta 1 was released on 11th June and on 25th June the iOS 6 beta 2 hasbeen pushed over-the-air to, registered developers with minor enhancements.

iOS 6 beta 2 is available for the following iOS devices:

  • iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS
  • iPad 3 (the new iPad), iPad 2
  • iPod touch 4G

We’ve just come to know that iOS 6 beta 2 (build 10A5338d) is now available for “download” in iOS Dev Center. If you are a developer and running iOS 6 beta 1, then you can easily download iOS 6 beta 2 via OTA update. Just head over to Settings > General > Software Update. It is as easy as a bicycle ride.

However, the iOS 6 6 does not offer’s much more than the iOS 5. The update weighs in 332MB for iPhone 4S users. In beta 2, Apple has re-added in the settings app the ‘Enable 3G’. This allows users to switch off their device’s 3G data when in a poor service area, or when trying to conserve power. The option was absent in the first beta, so its reappearance is certainly welcomed.

The list of new features of iOS 6 is not very attractive because most of the options like combining a sumptuous-looking 3D mode with turn by turn navigation, are available on the jail-broken iOS 5 as well. With the windows phone 8 set to release by the end of this year, iPhone’s improvements seem minimal. There is however, plenty of room left for Apple to polish the release to a shine.
